PHOENIX – The New Mexico State women’s swimming and diving team lost its second Western Athletic Conference meet of the month after falling to Grand Canyon University, 158-104, on Saturday afternoon at the Dottie Boreyko/Brophy Sports Campus.

The Aggies had three wins on the afternoon, including junior Jessica Legge sweeping the breastroke events.  Legge won the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.36 and the 200 breast in 2:25.28.

Sophomore Dorottya Lennert had the only other victory for NM State, winning the 100 fly in 57.66.  She also finished third in the 200 fly with a time of 2:08.10.

Senior Tricia Kiss had two second-place finishes, in the 100 back (59.49) and the 400 IM (4:37.11), and wound up third in the 200 breast with a time of 2:29.44.

Fellow Aggie senior Terrin Seaver finished second in the 200 back (2:08.65) while freshman Logan Morris also had a second-place finish, finishing second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:29.21.

The Aggies have little time to contemplate the loss, as they now finish their three-week stretch of consecutive meets.  NM State will split up its squad next week as the swimmers will compete against I-25 rival New Mexico in a dual meet on Saturday (Feb. 1) in Albuquerque while the divers will head to Colorado Springs, Colo., to take part in the Falcon Diving Invitational (Jan. 30-Feb. 1).
