LAS CRUCES, N.M.—Head cross country coach Orin Richburg announced Monday that another cross country athlete from Everett Community College has signed a national letter of intent to join NM State in the fall of 2013.
Aaron Campbell ran cross country and track for ECC and posted his best time of 25:18.83 in the 8-kilometer run at the Willamette Invitational in 2012. In his track career, Campbell competed in several different distance runs during his career at ECC including the 800-meter, 1,500-meter, 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter runs.
Campbell was part of a team that was back-to-back Northern Region Champions in 2011 and 2012. He helped the team win the NWAACC Championship in 2011 with a ninth-place finish. Campbell improved in his sophomore season and finished third at the 2012 NWAACC Championships.
“The addition of Aaron to our evolving men’s team will pay big dividends this fall,” said assistant coach Christopher Huff.
Campbell joins fellow ECC runner Habtamu Rubio as recent signees to the NM State cross country team.
