SAN DIEGO (Sept. 29)-After two days of play at the San Diego State Fall Tennis Classic the New
Mexico State women’s tennis team has four individual players and one doubles
team with a win.
“It was a
rough start to the weekend on Friday but I thought we battled back against some
very competitive players,” head coach Ivan Fernandez said. “I was pleased with
what I saw on the court despite the outcome of some of our matches.”

Denis Van Der Ben. It took Roslanova a
tiebreaker in the second set to defeat Pepperdine’s Taru Pangu, 6-3, 7-6
(6-1). Van Der Ben also won in straight
sets, but had a much easier time in her match.
She only lost two games in defeating Shelby Sinoway of Cal-State
Northridge, 6-0, 6-2. Both women
advanced to the semi-final round on Saturday.

Moore (6-3, 6-3) and freshman Mia Brandt lost to Jessica Warren of Cal-State
Northridge (6-1, 6-2).
