LAS CRUCES – NM State men’s basketball head
coach Marvin Menzies recently distributed the 2012 WAC championship rings to
his players and coaches at a private celebration at the Danny Villanueva
Victory Club in the Stan Fulton Center.
The crimson-based
rings, designed by Menzies, feature the WAC championship as well as the NCAA
berth following the successful 2011-12 basketball season.
NM State
finished the season with a 26-10 record, including 10-4 in regular-season WAC
play. For the second time in three
seasons, the Aggies went to the WAC Basketball Tournament and came away with
the championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The upcoming
season is highly anticipated, as the Aggies look to repeat as WAC champs and
make a return trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Several key players return for the Aggies, including Daniel Mullings, Chili
Nephawe, Bandja Sy, and Tyrone Watson.
Tickets for
the 2012-13 season are on sale now. For
