Mexico State men’s tennis finished the final day of the Lobo Balloon Fiesta
Classic with a victory in its only match of the day Sunday, Oct. 11.
In doubles consolation play,
Sophomore Matej Stakne and freshman Ryan Tommasi defeated Western New Mexico’s
Kyle Lynch and Yoeri Van Speybroeck, 8-5, to close out the tournament.
NM State finished the Lobo
Balloon Fiesta Classic with a 12-10 combined record.
The Aggies’ final tournament
of the fall season will be the ITA Mountain Region Championships, Oct. 21-25,
in Las Vegas, Nev.
“We’re going to be working on
our doubles play in practice this week to prepare for the Region
Championships,” assistant coach Carlos Vargas said.
