LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The New Mexico State women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Price's Give Em Five Intercollegiate Wednesday afternoon, placing 14th overall with a three round team score of 52-over par, 916. In the final round the Aggies carded a 24-over par, 312.
Junior Mint Swashcuto led the Aggies with a final round score of 5-over par, 77, finishing the tournament at 7-over par, 223, tying her for 14th overall. Junior Buz Bowermna-Ritchie also fired a 5-over par, 77 in the final round, placing her in a tie for 46th overall at 13-over par, 229.
Freshman Lindsay Reeve tallied a final round score of 8-over par, 80, tying her for 52nd overall with a three round score of 15-over par, 231. Senior Maggie Murphy finished her tournament with a final round of 6-over par, 78, tying for 68th with a three round score of 19-over par, 235.
Freshman Jocelyn Adams carded a three round score of 33-over par, 249, placing her in 91st. Her final round score was an 11-over par, 83. Individually for the Aggies, Marisa Batista placed 93rd overall with a three day score of 43-over par, 259, while Gina Bortoletto carded the low round of the day for the Aggies with a 2-over par, 74. Bortoletto did not play in round one due to an illness so she did not record a placement in the tournament.
WAC foe Idaho was crowned the tournament champions with a team score of 7-over par, 871, followed by UC-Irvine (+14), San Diego State (+16), Baylor (+30) and Fresno State (+30). Christine Wong of San Diego State won the individual title with a three round score of 10-under par.
The Aggies will be back in action on Nov. 2-4 at the University of Hawai'i Tournament in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
