LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The New Mexico State men's golf team will wrap up the 2009-10 fall season at the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational, Nov. 2-4, in Kahuku, Hawai'i.

"Hawai'i is a place that we have played well in the past," head coach Scott Lieberwirth said. "The guys will be relaxed and enjoy themselves. We have our most consistent lineup going to this tournament. We are at place right now that we need to start making birdies and record low scores. This is a tough tournament but if we get that consistency we have a good shot at playing well."

The Aggies will play on two separate courses in Hawai'i. The Arnold Palmer Course, 7,218 yard, par 72 on rounds one and two, followed by the 6,535 yard, par 72, George Fazio Course in round three.

Junior Tim Madigan, sophomore Gaston De La Torre, senior Ryan Word, freshman Justin Shin and freshman Derek Baade will travel to Hawai'i for NM State. The Aggies will face off against Long Beach State, BYU-Hawai'i, Air Force, Illinois, Georgia State, Hawai'i, San Diego State, Santa Clara, Osaka Gakuin (Japan) and British Columbia (Canada).

NM State is coming off a fourth-place finish at the 2009 Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate this past week, as junior Tim Madigan won his first collegiate golf tournament.

Last year at the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate, the Aggies carded a team score of 7-under par, 281 in the final round of play, finishing the tournament at 8-under par, 856, finishing in seventh overall.

Travis Reid led the Aggies the entire tournament, with three straight rounds of 2-under par, 70, finishing the tournament at 6-under par, 216. Reid placed in a tie for 6th overall. Josh Steward carded his second round under par with a 2-under par, 70 in the final round to finish tied for 25th overall with a three round score of 2-under par, 214.
