LAS CRUCES, N.M.-New Mexico State softball head coach Kathy Rodolph and the Aggies are hosting a fall prospect camp and a team and coaches camp prior to the 2010 season. The camps are at the NM State Softball Complex on the campus of New Mexico State University.
The prospect camp slated for Nov. 14-15 is open to athletes in grades nine-12. The one-day camp cost is $125 or an early bird discount is $115 if registration is received by Oct. 30 and the two-day camp cost $200 or the early bird discount is $180. Registration closes Nov. 10 and call assistant coach Tiala Tagaloa at 575-646-3474 for availability after Nov. 10. A brown bag lunch is available for $6 per day and the meal includes a sandwich, chips, cookie and drink.
Aggie prospect camp is an excellent opportunity for advanced players to showcase their abilities, work with NM State coaching staff and take a campus tour. Instructional workouts such as: speed, base running, proper throwing, hitting and pitching technique workouts in the morning and scrimmages in the afternoon.
The team and coaches camp is a great way to get a jump start on the 2010 season. The annual coaches clinic is scheduled for Jan. 15 from 6-9 p.m. and the team camp is Jan. 16-17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for 10-12 year olds and then at 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. for 13 year olds and up. It is open to as many teams until filled. An individual attending team camp rate is $40, while a team is set at $400 (minimum is 10 athletes/ maximum is 15 athletes per team). If registration is received on or before Jan. 1, then camp is only $30 per athlete.
The goal for the Team and Coaches Camp is to have an interactive environment where you can work with the NM State coaching staff and team as the Aggies demonstrate some of their most productive drills and strategies.
