2006: Gottlieb will battle for a starting position on the offensive line in 2006.

 

2005 (Sophomore): Gottlieb played in eight games for the Aggies, starting three at the guard position in 2005. He helped the Aggies finishes 24th in the nation in passing offense with 266 passing yards per games. Gottlieb also helped NMSU’s Buries rush for three consecutive 100-yard game, an Aggie first since 2000. He helped NMSU rush for a team-high 178 yards against Cal (9/23).

 

2004 (Redshirt Freshman):  Gottlieb saw playing time in seven of the Aggies’ 11 games in 2004. Gottlieb also started at left tackle against UL Lafayette (10/9) and North Texas (10/23).    

  

2003 (Freshman):  Alex was a redshirt in his first year at NMSU.

 

High School: Alex was a first team all-Foothill League pick as a junior and senior at Valencia High School.  He was a first team all-Santa Clarita Valley pick as a junior and senior and second team All-area in 2002.  He was a first team All-CIF pick in 2001 and a PrepStar All-America pick in 2001.  He helped the Vikings to the CIF VII Division II finals in 2001.  Alex was a two-year starter at offensive tackle.  Valencia posted an 11-3 record his junior year and a 6-5 mark as a senior.

 

Personal: Alex was born in Valencia, Calif. and is the son of Shari Ward and Paul Gottlieb.  He is majoring in Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism Management..
