2008 (Freshman): Smith played in just two games for the Aggies on the defensive line before suffering a season-ending injury. Against Alcorn State (10/4), Smith recorded one tackle, a tackle-for-a-loss and a sack.

High School: Smith was a two-year starter for Red Mountain High School on the defensive line. He helped lead his team to the state semi-finals in 2007, leading the team with 75 tackles and 12 sacks. He was named an all-region and all-state selection in 2007. He was also selected to the Arizona All-Star Game. As a junior, he led the team in sacks and collected 60 tackles. He was named an all-region selection.

Personal: Smith is the son of Edwin Smith and Adah Abbiw Jackson. He plans to major in economics and business administration.
