LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State equestrian team moves up one spot in the latest poll by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association, which was announced Friday, Oct. 11. NM State ranks No. 9 after competing three times in September.
Georgia hangs on to the No. 1 spot and Auburn stays steady at No. 2. Neither team has competed since the last poll was released, Oct. 1. South Carolina, Kansas State and Oklahoma State round out the top five, while TCU is now No. 6 after an 11-9 win against Baylor, which is now No. 7.
The Texas A&M Aggies drop two spots to No. 8, while NM State bumps one spot ahead of SMU, which was ranked ninth in the last poll and moved to No. 10 this week.
The poll is released twice a month, with the next one expected in November.
The 2014 NCEA Championships take place April 17-19 in Waco, Texas, marking the first year one championship will be contested, rather than separate championships by disciplines.
