LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State equestrian team took on Kansas State Friday afternoon at the NM State Equestrian Center. The Aggies fell to the Wildcats 12-3 and are now 2-3 on the season as a team.
“It was a tough day for the entire team,” head coach Robin Morris-Walters said. “We need to regroup as a team and come back tomorrow and have a solid showing against West Texas A&M. I know our team will continue to fight.”
The Hunter Seat team was defeated 7-1, scoring one point in Equitation over Fences, as Emily McConnell was named MVP with her ride over Madison Wayde, 79-68.
The Western team was also beat by the Wildcats by a score of 5-2. Brynn Larson defeated KSU’s Kara Guy, 70-68.5 while Tara Wilson beat by Savannah Smith, 69-58.
The Aggies will back on the arena on Saturday late morning to face West Texas A&M.
