LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The New Mexico State equestrian team is back on the road this weekend to face Baylor on Friday, Feb. 3 and Oklahoma State on Saturday, Feb. 4. The Aggies are currently 6-4 this season. NM State last faced Baylor in 2010 at the Willie Willis Invitational but has not faced Oklahoma State since 2009.
"This will be a very quick turnaround of the girls this weekend with only three days to prepare before we have to hit the road again," head coach Audrey Buck said. "We have the ability I feel to compete with both Baylor and Oklahoma State and come away with victories. If the Western team can build some confidence I think they will start to role, while the Hunter Seat team has a good chance of beating both the teams we will face. Time is factor for us this weekend but I look for our team to go out and compete hard."
Competing on the Western side will be Chelsea Campbell, Clarissa Edgerton, Jessica Woolsey, Lauren DeVoe, Megan Gould, Bryn Larson and Stefanie Story in Horsemanship, while the Reining team will consist of Andrea Allen, Campbell, Marissa Bartmann, Story and Tara Wilson.
On the Hunter Seat side, Laura Bostwick, Ruby Jenkins, Stephanie Gershon, Brianna Raab and Hannah Swarthout will compete in Equitation on the Flat, as Bostwick, Emily McConnell, Beth Solomon, Amy Lang and Amber Tassel will represent the Aggies in Equitation over Fences.
Results for each day's competition will be posted at www.NMStateSports.com
