LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The New Mexico State Equestrian team hits the road this weekend, to compete in their final regular season road competition against South Carolina, March 19. The Aggies are coming off a trip to Manhattan, Kan., last week as they competed against Auburn and Kansas State. Currently on the season, the Aggies are 4-6 overall.
"This is the time of year that we really start fine tuning ourselves for Nationals next month," head coach Audrey Van Eman said. "South Carolina is an excellent team and I feel this will be a good competition for our riders to go out and see how we stack up against some of the nation's best riders. I fully expect us to go out and compete at a high level and compete to win this weekend."
The Aggies last faced South Carolina in 2010, falling 9-7 in a close competition. The Hunter Seat team tied 4-4, while the Western team came up just short at 5-3. Rebecca McReynolds won MVP honors that day in the Reining competition.
