LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The New Mexico State Equestrian team hits the road this weekend, visiting Manhattan, Kan., to face Auburn and Kansas State, March 11-12. The Aggies are coming off a tough road trip at the Georgia Invitational two weeks ago. Currently on the season, the Aggies are 4-4 overall.

"I feel that our team, both the Western and Hunter Seat, rode very solid at Georgia a few weeks ago," head coach Audrey Van Eman said. "It was disappointing not to come out with a win during that weekend, but I have to say that the attitudes and expectations of our riders were very positive. We came out of that competition feeling proud of how we rode and competed. This weekend is another weekend. Our team is riding very strong and I expect them to come out and give solid performances."

The Aggies last faced Auburn in 2010, falling 12-4. NM State and Kansas State last hooked up in 2009 in Las Cruces, as the Aggies dropped a tough one 11-7.

NM State will travel Laura Bostwick, Stephanie Gershon, Amy Lang, Emily McConnell, Chelsae Keyes, Brianna Raab, Erica Daniels and Samantha Stephens on the Hunter Seat side, while the Western team will be represented by Chelsea Campbell, Kyra Cruse, Megan Gould, Pamela Evans, Jessica Woolsey, Breanne Bertrand, Kate Goodwin and Tara Wilson.

Results will be available at www.NMStateSports.com following each day of the competition.
