NM State Equestrian Travels to Fresno State

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The NM State Equestrian team will travel to Fresno, Calif., Saturday, Oct 23 for a dual competition against the Bulldogs of Fresno State at the Student Horse Center. The competition is scheduled for 10 a.m. (MT) Last season the Aggies faced the Bulldogs twice, splitting the two meetings.

Currently the Aggies are 2-2 this season, coming for a win over West Texas A&M in early Oct., at home.

The Aggies will travel Breanne Bertrand, Chelsea Campbell, Kyra Cruse, Pamela Evans, Kate Goodwin, Megan Gould, Tara Wilson, and Jessica Woolsey to compete for the Western team, while Laura Bostwick, Jennifer Friend, Amy Lang, Emily McConnell, Chelsae Keyes, Brianna Raab and Samantha Stephens will compete for the Hunter Seat squad.

In the Aggies last competition against West Texas A&M, the Aggies defeated West Texas A&M, 12-8. The Hunter Seat team won 6-4, while the Western team won 6-4.

In the Hunter Seat competition, the Equitation on the Flat won 4-1, as Chelsae Keyes was named MVP, while Emily McConnell won MVP honors in Equitation over Fences. 

The Western team won the Horsemanship competition 4-1, while dropping the Reining showdown, 3-2. Pamela Evans won the MVP honor in Horsemanship, as Kate Goodwin and Christina Keyes both won their Reining head-to-head match ups.
