COLUMBIA, S.C. – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) and The Chronicle of the Horse have announced this year’s top horses in collegiate equestrian. New Mexico State landed two horses on this list; Equitation over Fences horse Aridus, donated by Phil & Megan Dawson and Horsemanship horse Totally Bodacious, donated by Bonnie Elber were honored.

The top ten horses were selected from each of the four events that the NCEA competes in – Reining, Horsemanship, Equitation on the Flat, and Equitation Over Fences.

“We take pride in having quality equine athletes as part of our team because in our sport having quality horses is just as important as having quality student-athletes,” head coach Robin Morris-Walters said.

The Chronicle of the Horse is a magazine dedicated to providing news coverage of national and international sport horse competitions. It was first published in 1937 and today it offers everything from competition results to compelling features and thought-provoking commentary. The Chronicle of the Horse is published 40 times each year.
