LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in conjunction with Kohl’s Department Store of Las Cruces, held its annual Dress a Child event, Saturday, Dec. 1. Thirty NM State student-athletes joined in on the fun, as each child was paired with a two student-athletes and were given up to $133 to buy clothes for the holiday season.

 

“During this event you realize how many families are really in need during the holidays,” cross country runner and SAAC Officer Terry Williams said. “It felt good to help these families and felt even better knowing you were putting a smile on a child’s face.”

 

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is the student voice for the athletic administration, the university, the Western Athletic Conference and the NCAA. SAAC helps to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image, while remaining an active role in the Las Cruces community.
