LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Aug. 24, 2012) - The New Mexico State University athletics department is inviting the NM State community to try out to sing the national anthem at one of the home sporting events.

Qualifiers would have the opportunity to sing at sporting events such as volleyball, soccer, women's basketball, baseball, and softball, as well as other events.  If you are interested in singing the national anthem at an Aggie event, please submit a sample of yourself singing the national anthem in 90 seconds or less to NM State assistant coordinator of marketing Lauren Adee.

"We want to get more of the talented Las Cruces community involved with out sporting events," Adee said. "A live singer also adds to the game presentation and the fans just enjoy it."

Interested participants can place their samples on either a CD or jump drive and mail it to Adee at the Fulton Center, 1815 Wells Street, Las Cruces, N.M., 88003.  Please provide your full name, address, telephone number and email address when sending in your submission.  Participants can also submit their sample by email to wprice@nmsu.edu. This opportunity is going to be open anyone interested and will continue throughout the year.

For any questions on this please contact Lauren Adee at 575-646-5348 or email her at wprice@nmsu.edu.
