NM State Cheerleaders Getting Prepared for Trip to Nationals

The New Mexico State cheerleading team talks with NM State Media Relations Department intern, Bryan Tempel, as they prepare for their trip to the regional cheer competition in Denton, Texas.

This Regional cheer competition will be held, Sunday, March 4, where our cheer squad, led by head coach Jessica Franklin and assistant coach Matthew Ortega. The Aggie cheerleaders have a chance to compete for $5,000.

Cheerleading Nationals is after Regionals and will be held in Anaheim, Calif., March 18-19 where the Aggie Cheer squad will be competing in both the co-ed and partner stunt competitions. Mario Loredo hopes to repeat his performance of last year's partner stunt competition where he and his former partner finished in second place behind Hawai'i.
