LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Recently a school-wide effort between teachers/parents and supporters at César E. Chávez Elementary worked with New Mexico State Athletics’ Aggie Deputy Kids Club to bring Aggie athletes into classrooms as positive role models, help students learn about higher education and get students to Aggie athletic events.

The Aggie Deputy Kids Club is sponsored by Southwest Dairy Farmers, Peter Piper Pizza, and Wienerschnitzel.

The César E. Chávez Elementary Coyotito PTC raised $5,750 ($10 per student) so each student could become registered in the Aggie Deputy Kids Club. Each club membership includes an Aggie backpack, tee shirt, NM State team schedules and magnets. Students also receive membership cards that allow them entry into selected Aggie athletic events. For example, César E. Chávez Elementary Deputy Aggie Kids will be invited to attend the January 19 Aggie men’s basketball game.

If your school is interested in helping its students become members of the Aggie Deputy Kids Club contact Will Price at wprice@nmsu.edu.
