LAS CRUCES, N.M. (April 18) - The New Mexico State women's tennis team rolled 7-0 over Western New Mexico in a midweek match Wednesday afternoon at the NM State Tennis Center.

NM State (10-7, 1-2 WAC) only dropped four games in a three-match sweep to earn the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead over Western New Mexico (7-12, 4-2 RMAC).

Three Aggies did not surrender a game to their Mustang opponents. Sophomore Annemieke Witte, classmate Ros-Polly Nguyen and freshman Denise Van Der Ben each won a double-bagel match at Nos. 5, 6 and 2 respectively.

Senior Natalia Salum was off the court shortly thereafter in a 6-1, 6-0 result at the No. 4 spot. Junior Ginet Pinero won in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 as did senior Manon Sylvain with a 6-2, 6-2 decision.

NM State wraps up the regular season with a big match against the University of New Mexico, rescheduled from earlier this season.

The Aggies celebrate senior day for co-captains Sylvain and Salum against Rio Grande Rival New Mexico in their final match of the regular season on Saturday with first serve at 10 a.m. on the NM State Tennis Center courts.
