The Aggies (8-5) have won seven of their last nine matches after a 5-2 victory at UTSA last week. NM State finished 1-1 on its three-game Texas road swing after a suspended match against St. Andrew's to begin the week and a 6-1 loss at Texas State on Tuesday.
Traditional Davison II power Abilene Christian (17-2) is ranked No. 6 in the nation for that division. The Wildcats play the Aggies Friday afternoon on a two-game road swing against Division I foes. ACU plays at UTEP Saturday.
Aggie senior captains Natalia Salum and Manon Sylvain continue to lead the Aggies in singles. Sophomore Ros-Polly Nguyen has also stepped up as of late as the only Aggie to win both of her singles matches last week during the Texas road swing.
Sylvain is also currently ranked No. 17 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Mountain Regional rankings.
