The No. 2 doubles team of Manon Sylvain and Denise Van Der Ben will also look to extend their three-game winning streak.
NM State recently came back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Idaho Vandals 4-3 on March 4. Nguyen and freshman Van Der Ben led the charge to victory after both trailed in the first set. Salum was victorious after trailing 6-2, 4-1 to Idaho's Sophie Vickers. Witte clinched the Aggie win by defeating Beatriz Flores in a second set tiebreaker.
No. 43 Fresno State (5-5, 1-0 WAC) enters the match holding a three-game winning streak, including an upset win over No. 50 Georgia State when the Bulldogs were unranked.
Fresno State's No. 1 singles player Marianne Jodoin is ranked No. 42 in the nation and holds a record of 8-2, with her only losses coming to nationally-ranked opponents.
The winner of the match will take an early lead in the Western Athletic Conference standings.
"Our team is playing with a lot of confidence and focus, and I like what I'm seeing," head coach Ivan Fernandez said.
