Las Cruces, N.M.-New Mexico State University women's tennis player junior Manon Sylvain was named to the Western Athletic Conference All-Tournament team in singles due to her performance at the WAC tournament in Boise, Idaho.
Sylvain was the only Aggie named to the All-Tournament team in singles or doubles. Of the nine teams participating in the WAC tournament, NM State was one of only four schools from which players were selected for All-Tournament teams.
Sylvain went 1-1 in singles in the two matches NM State played during the WAC tournament. Sylvain defeated Lauren Simpson of Idaho 6-0, 6-3, in the No. 2 match to help NM State attain a 4-2 victory over Idaho in the quarterfinals of the WAC tournament. Sylvain lost to Sonia Klamczynska of Boise State 6-1, 6-1, in the 4-0 loss to Boise State in the semifinals.
Sylvain finished the regular season with a 10-14 overall singles record. Sylvain went 10-14 in the spring in singles, playing all of her matches between the No.1 and No. 2 position. Sylvain went 11-13 overall in doubles, going 9-9 in the spring.
