LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Oct. 8)-The New Mexico State women's tennis team concludes its fall season at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's  Mountain Regional Championships, Wednesday, Oct. 10 through Sunday, Oct. 14 in Las Vegas, Nev.

"The ITA Regional Tournament is what we work so hard for the entire fall season," head coach Ivan Fernandez said. "Really, all the other events we play in the fall are in preparation for this tournament."

The tournament includes players from 16 universities in the region. Last year, the Aggies finished ninth in the region.

"Senior Ginet Pinero and juniors Annemieke Witte and Ros-Polly Nguyen have been playing extremely well so far this fall," he said. "I look for them to play well again this week. Sophomore Denise van Der Ben played No. 2 singles last year, is increasing in confidence and I expect her to play this weekend as well.

"My other senior Jodie Williams is coming off a back injury from last year and is working her way back to playing shape with every match. The two freshmen, Mia Brandt and Lisa Roslanova, are getting their first taste of college tennis and are constantly improving with this level of competition."
