Two Aggies Advance at ITA Mountain Regional

Las Vegas, Nev. – The New Mexico State men’s tennis team advanced two singles players in the back draw Friday at the 2012 ITA Mountain Regional.

 

Yannick Blank took on J. Martin-Moriilas, winning in straight sets 6-3, 7-5, while Germain Degardin took three sets to defeat C. Torres, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. Both Blank and Degardin will advance in the back draw and compete Sunday afternoon.

 

Luis Ramirez also competed on Friday but was forced to retire with an injury.

 

In doubles, the team of Marc Westgate and Ramirez took on Boise State’s Bettles and Sereke, falling 8-5. The Aggies’ Fernandez and Manivannan took on Nevada’s Ouvrard and Sunago, coming up just short, 8-4.

 

The Aggies will back on the court Saturday for the fourth day of the ITA Mountain Regional.
