FRESNO, Calif. (March 19) - The New Mexico State men's tennis team continues its six-match road swing this week with conference matches against No. 19 Fresno State and Hawai'i in Fresno.
The Aggies (4-8, 1-0 WAC) enter the week on a five-match losing streak. NM State dropped a pair of 5-2 contests to No. 47 San Diego State and Arizona in Tucson last week.
No. 19 Fresno State (11-1, 2-0 WAC) has won 10 straight matches entering the week. FS defeated Idaho 6-1 last week the last time on the courts. The Bulldogs boast two ranked singles players in senior Remi Boutillier ranked No. 17 nationally and sophomore Francis Alcantara ranked No. 52.
Hawai'i (2-7, 1-0 WAC) overcame a 2-0 deficit to oust Nevada, 4-3, in its Western Athletic Conference opener last week. Since then the Rainbow Warriors lost 5-2 to Loyola Marymount.
NM State battles host Fresno State at 6 p.m. Tuesday and then face UH two days later in Fresno at noon on Thursday.
