NM State Prepares for Road Trip to Arizona

Las Cruces, N.M.-The Men's Tennis team of New Mexico State University heads to Tucson, Ariz., this weekend to face Sacramento State and No. 42 Arizona.

            NM State, currently ranked No. 56 in the nation, will start off by facing Sacramento State on Saturday, March 5, and will wrap up the weekend by facing No. 42 Arizona on Sunday, March 6.

            NM State heads into the weekend with a 6-4 record.  Sacramento state heads in with a 4-6 record and Arizona has a 6-4 record.

            The Aggies travel to Arizona well refreshed after having a weekend off from play.  The road trip to Arizona marks the beginning of an extended road trip that will last from March 5-April 17. 

            NM State looks to expand on its current 5-match winning streak, which includes a win over the University of Denver on Feb. 12, ranked No. 41 at the time.  The last time the Aggies lost dates back to Feb. 5.

            Senior Arthur Surreaux is nationally ranked for the Aggies, currently sitting at No. 77. 

            The Aggies will face ranked opponents from both teams this weekend.  Kiryl Harbatsuik of Sacramento State is currently ranked No. 26 in singles and Andres Carrasco of Arizona is currently ranked No. 107 in singles.  The Sacramento State doubles pair of Harbatsuik and Marko Starcevic is ranked No. 80.
