LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The New Mexico State men’s tennis team opens up its first road stint of the spring season as the team heads to Las Vegas, Nev. on Friday, Jan. 31 to face UNLV, UC-Riverside, Southern Mississippi, and finally finish with a match against Weber State on Sunday, Feb. 2.

NM State first matches up against a UNLV Rebel team that has yet to start the spring season.

On Saturday, Feb. 1, the Aggies are set to take on two opponents, the first against UC-Riverside and second match against Southern Mississippi.

UC-Riverside is already four matches into the 2014 spring season but are still searching for its first victory. The Aggies were victorious against the Highlanders last season, with a 4-0 win that also took place in Las Vegas.

The second match for NM State on Saturday is against Southern Mississippi. The Golden Eagles are two games deep this spring and have a 2-0 record, coming off a 7-0 victory over Jackson State just a week ago.

Wrapping up their final match of the four-game road swing, the Aggies take on Weber State on Sunday, Feb. 2. The Wildcats are currently at a 1-3 record for the 2014 spring season and are coming off a victory against Idaho State.

NM State has started its season with a 1-1 record and earned a victory against one-time Western Athletic Conference foe, Utah State, on Saturday, Jan. 25.

The first match of the four-game road trip for the Aggies is against UNLV and will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31. A double-header is scheduled for NM State on Saturday, Feb. 1 with the first match of the day against UC-Riverside at 10 a.m., and concluding the day against Southern Mississippi at 2 p.m. To wrap up the road trip, the Aggies will then face Weber State at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2.
