BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The New Mexico State women's golf team sits in 11th place after two rounds of play at the 2012 UNLV Spring Invitational, Monday, Feb. 20 at the par 72 Cascata Golf Club. The Aggies posted scores of 315 and 318 for a 633.
Nationally ranked Arizona leads the 11-team field with a 7-over-par 583 and is three stokes ahead of host team UNLV. San Diego State, also ranked in Golfweek/Sargin rankings is in third place with a two-round team score of 602.
Arizona's Nikki Koller leads all players with a 1-over-par 145 (72-73) and two UNLV players are tied for second just one stroke behind. Aggie sophomore Demi Mak is tied for 17th with a 6-over-par 150 and is one of only three players to post a 71 as she did it in round two on Monday. Mak tallied two birdies, one bogey and 15 pars in that round.
Freshman Laura Barron is tied for 44th with a 161 and sophomores Mieke Canan and Amelie Buhl are tied for 46th with a 162. Senior Ashley Elias posted a two-round score of 163 and is tied for 51st.
The Aggies finish up the 2012 UNLV Spring Invitational with the final round of play starting at approximately 9am (MT) with live scoring available at GolfStat.com.
