BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The New Mexico State women's golf team is set to tee off in the2012 UNLV Spring Invitational at the Cascata Golf Club, Monday, Feb. 20 and Tuesday, Be. 21. The 11-team field will be playing two rounds on Monday followed by a single 18-hole round, Tuesday.
The seventh edition of the UNLV Spring Invitational includes host team UNLV along with Arizona, San Diego State, New Mexico, Louisville, North Texas, Idaho, Colorado State, UC Irvine, BYU and NM State. According to the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, Arizona is the highest ranked team in this tournament at No. 24.
Playing for the Aggies this week are sophomores Demi Mak, Amelie Buhl and Mieke Canan, along with senior Ashley Elias and freshman Laura Barron. Mak was NM State's top finisher in its last tournament (Arizona Wildcat Invitational) as jumped 30 spots up the leader board on the last day of play to finish tied for 12th after she posted a 3-under-par 69.
