Junior: Bowen competed in 11 tournaments, including the Sun Belt Conference championships, and had a scoring average of 72.51, which was tops for the Aggies.  His low round score was a 67, which came in the third round of the PING-Arizona Intercollegiate tournament in Tucson, Ariz. (1/31-2/1).  In that tournament Bowen finished with a score of 4-under-par 209 and ended up in a tie for fifth place.  Bowen’s best outing of the season came at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Brighton, Colo., where he fired a 5-under-par 211(68-72-71) for a fourth place finish.  Bowen came up with another good finish at the Roadrunner Intercollegiate in San Antonio, Texas.  He shot rounds of 69-69-75214 (+1) and finished seventh.  

 

Sophomore: Bowen was named to the 2004 All-Sun Belt Conference men's golf team and made his first ever appearance in the NCAA West Regional. He finished second in scoring average at 73.52 in 33 rounds and played in all 12 tournaments for the Aggies. His best finish came at 2004 Sun Belt Conference Championships (5/19-21) where he placed third, shooting 70-74-73--217. He placed in a tie for ninth at the Ernest F. Lied Wolf Pack Classic (10/6-7) with scores of 68-72-72--212. His 68 in the opening round was a season-low round. He recorded six top 25 finishes and finished in a tie for 17th at the Bill Cullum/Countrywide Intercollegiate with scores of 73-74-71--218. He fired a 73-72-80--225 to record a tie for 17th at the Lindsey Collegiate Classic (3/29-30). He tied for 24th at the Northwest Collegiate Classic (9/25-26) with scores of 73-72-73--218.

Freshman: Competed in 11 tournaments for the Aggies and finished first on team in scoring average with a 73.79. His best finish was a tie for fourth at the 49er Collegiate Classic where he posted a three-round score of 214. He also shot a season-low 69 twice.

High School: Helped lead Eldorado to two-straight second place finishes in the New Mexico High School State Championships (junior and senior year). He won the New Mexico Individual State Championship as a senior in 2002.

Personal: Danny L. Bowen was born in Albuquerque, N.M. He is the son of Sheri Luikens and Larry Bowen. Danny is majoring in Clothing, Textiles and Fashion Merchandising.
