NM State Menís Golf 12th at NCAA Regional

Sugar Grove, Ill.  – The New Mexico State men’s golf team opened up play at the 2014 NCAA Regional Golf Tournament, Thursday morning at the par 72, 7151-yard, Rich Harvest Farms Golf Course. The Aggies carded a first round score of 29-over par, 317 and are tied for 12th overall.

Senior Willy Hogan leads NM State after a first round score of 2-over par, 74. He is currently in a tie for 11th overall. Sophomore Kenneth Fadke II is tied for 33rd, shooting a 6-over par, 78 in round one of competition.

Junior Brett Walker carded a 9-over par, 81 in round one and sits tied for 54th overall, while junior Pat Beyhan was 12-over par, 84 in his first round of play, tying him for 69th. Freshman Luis Medina rounded out the Aggie competitors with a 15-over par, 87. He is tied for 73rd overall.

No. 21 UAB leads the tournament at 4-over par, followed by No. Illinois (+5), No. 33 Clemson (+11), No. 39 Kent State (+11), Jacksonville State (+14) and No. 16 USC (+14). Illinois’ Brian Campbell leads the individual scoring a 3-under par.
