LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The No. 47 ranked New Mexico State men’s golf team heads to Lafayette, La., March 10-11 for the Louisiana Classic at the Oakbourne Country Club.

Brett Walker, Pat Beyhan, Kenneth Fadke II, Willy Hogan and Luis Medina will tee it up for the Aggies this tournament.

“We are playing a short course this weekend so we will need to adjust to playing shorter shots off the tee and hitting better shots into the green,” head coach Mike Dirks said. “It will be a test for us on how we will adjust and not just bombing it down the fairway.”

The Aggies last competed at the Bayou City Classic, Feb. 22-23, finishing seventh overall with a three-round score of 4-over par.

The Louisiana Classic is slated to get underway at 8 a.m. both days with a shotgun start on Monday, while teams will start off of holes one and 10 on Tuesday. Host Louisiana, No. 9 Illinois, Illinois State, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, No. 33 LSU, No. 47 New Mexico State, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Miss, Texas State, Tulsa and UTSA make up the 12 team field.
