Men's Golf Tied for Sixth at Falcon Invite

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The New Mexico State men's golf team sits at 7-over par, 583 tying for sixth after two rounds of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at the par 72, 7,370 yard Eisenhower Golf Course. The Aggies carded a 7-over par, 295 in round one round then fired back in round two with a round of even par, 288.

"The first round looked like last year," head coach Mike Dirks said. "The second round was a different story. We played more team golf and give ourselves a chance to move up some spots tomorrow. Fadke had a great day in his first few rounds of collegiate golf as well."

Kenneth Fadke leads the Aggie competitors after a two-round score of 2-under par, 142 tying him for eighth overall. Fadke was 2-over par after round one but carded a 4-under par in round two. Senior Justin Shin was even par, 144 after two rounds with scores of 1-under par, 71 and 1-over par, 73. Shin is tied for 19th overall.

Taylor Mihok was 3-over par, 147 after two rounds, carding a 1-under, 71 and a 4-over, 76. Mihok is tied for 31st overall.  Derek Baade was 7-over par, 151 and is currently tied for 48th overall after two rounds. Baade had rounds of 7-over par, 79 and even par, 72.

Brett Walker rounded out the Aggie competitors with a two round score of 13-over par, 157, placing him in 76th overall.

Colorado leads the tournament at 9-under par, followed by UNLV (-4), Air Force (-1), Coastal Carolina (+1) and Colorado-Colo. Springs (+6). Jason Burstyn of Colorado and Kyle Westmoreland of Air Force lead the tournament at 5-under par.

The Aggies will be back for the final round of the tournament, tomorrow beginning at 8:00 a.m. (MT)
