LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The NM State men's golf team will look to defend their 2011 conference title as they head to Henderson, Nev. for the 2012 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Golf Championships from April 30-May 2, 2012. The par 72, 7,332 yard course at the Rio Secco Golf Club will host the tournament.
"I expect us to be in the last two in the field with a chance to win," head coach Mike Dirks said. "We've still got three of at least the top nine players in our conference on our team with Justin, Gaston, and Zach. If they show up to play then hopefully they can continue to help us, and we need to get a round from Miko like he had in Phoenix. I think we should compete for a conference championship."

The five golfers have combined for nine top-5 finishes and 15 top-10 finishes this season. Fullerton, De La Torre, and Shin were members of the 2011 WAC Championship team.
