DENVER - New Mexico State's Justin Shin has been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Golfers of the Week for April 9-15.

Shin, a junior from Maple Ridge, British Columbia (Thomas Haney Secondary School), posted two top-10 finishes last week.  At the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale, Ariz., Shin tied for ninth place with a 5-under par 205 (66-70-69).  He then followed that up with 2-under par 208 (68-69-71) to tie for second place at the Western Intercollegiate over this past weekend.  Shin, the round two leader, finished two strokes behind the eventual champion.  The tournament featured seven of the top-15 teams in the country.  It is the second time that Shin has won a WAC golfer of the week or month award.

The Aggies will compete at the 2012 WAC Championships on April 30-May 2 in Las Vegas, Nev.
