Men's Golf Heads to 66th Annual Western Intercollegiate

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The New Mexico State men's golf team wastes no time traveling to Santa Cruz, Calif., for the 66th Annual Western Intercollegiate, April 14-15 at the par 70, 6,615-yard Pasatiempo Golf Course.

The tournament will consist of 54 holes (36 holes on Saturday, April 14 and 18 holes on Sunday, April 15), with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. MST. Each team will consist of six players with the five best scores from each round counting towards the overall team score.

The Aggies will play seniors Gaston De La Torre and Zachery Fullerton, juniors Justin Shin and Derek Baade and freshman Cosme Beamonte and Brett Walker.

Former Aggie Tim Madigan won this event last season as the Aggies finished eighth overall.

NM State will compete against some of the top teams in the country including: California, Denver, Hawaii, Hawaii Hilo, Kansas, Oregon, San Jose State, San Diego State, Southern California,  Stanford,  Texas, UC Irvine and UCLA.

Results will be available by live scoring at www.golfstat.com or at www.NMStateSports.com following each day of competition.
