Men's Golf Remains in 14th at Southern Highlands

Las Vegas, Nev. - The New Mexico State men's golf team carded a 15-over par, 303 in the second round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters Saturday at the Southern Highlands Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nev. The Aggies are currently in 14th out of 15 teams after two rounds at 33-over par, 609.

Junior Justin Shin led the Aggies in round two with a team-low 2-over par, 75. After two rounds he is 5-over par, 149. Shin is tied for 41st overall. Senior Zachery Fullerton slipped a little in round two with a 3-over par, 75. He is currently tied for 26th overall at 2-over par, 146.

Senior Gaston De La Torre carded a 5-over par, 77 in round two and sits in a tie for 65th overall at 13-over par, 157 after two rounds. Freshman Brett Walker was 9-over par, 81 in round two and is in 74th overall. Redshirt senior Miko Alejandro shot five strokes better in round two then in round one with a 7-over par, 79. He is tied for 75th overall at 19-over par.

California leads the tournament at 3-under par, followed by UNLV (+3), Texas A&M (+4), UCLA (+7) and Stanford (+7). Logan McCracken of Texas Tech continues to lead the tournament at 6-under par.

The Aggies will be back in action tomorrow morning for the third round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters.
