NM State Men's Golf Ninth at Western Intercollegiate

Santa Cruz, Calif. - The New Mexico State men's golf team was in ninth after the first round of the 65th Annual Western Intercollegiate at the Pasatiempo Golf Club. The Aggies shot an 18-ver par, 368 in round one.

Senior Tim Madigan carded a 1-under par, 69, in round one with three birdies. He is currently tied for 10th.  Junior Zachary Fullerton and sophomore Justin Shin recorded a 4-over par, 74, placing them in a tie for 44th. Fullerton had two birdies, while Shin had three birdies in the first round.

Junior Gaston De La Torre fired a 5-over par, 75, placing him in a tie for 55th overall. Freshman Collin Pratt was 6-over par, 76 in round one tying him for 62th. Pratt had four birdies on the round. Junior Joon Lee struggled in his first round of play, with an 11-over par, 81.

The Aggies were thru 15 holes in the second round before play was called for darkness.

The Aggies will be back in action for the rest of the second round and final round of play at the 65th annual Western Intercollegiate Sunday morning.
