NM State Men's Golf Finishes 10th at Morris Williams

Austin, TEXAS - The New Mexico State men's golf team carded its best team round of the 2011 Morris Williams Intercollegiate, Tuesday afternoon, firing a 12-over par, 296. The Aggies finished tied for 10th as a team with three-round score of 69-over par, 921.

Junior Gaston De La Torre led the Aggies after firing the Aggies' only round under par for the tournament, with a 1-under par, 70. De La Torre finished tied for 14th overall with a three-round score of 12-over par, 225. Senior Tim Madigan tied for 21st overall after a final round score of 3-over par, 74. Madigan was 15-over par, 228 for the tournament.

Junior Joon Lee also recorded a 3-over par, 74, tying him for 43rd overall with a three-round score 21-over par, 234. Junior Zachery Fullerton finished tied for 43rd as well after firing his third straight 7-over par, 78 in the final round.

Sophomore Justin Shin had his best round of the tournament with a 9-over par, 80. Shin placed 77th overall with a three-round score of 39-over par, 252.

Texas won the team title with a 40-over par, followed by Texas Tech (+42), Arkansas (+48), TCU (+52) and Kent State (+53). Tom Hoge of TCU won the individual title with a three-round score of 2-over par, 215.

The Aggies will be back in action on April 16-17 at the Western Intercollegiate in Santa Cruz, Calif.
