Laredo, Texas - Senior Tim Madigan tied for third overall after a final round score of 7-under par, 65, at the Border Olympics Golf Tournament. Madigan shot three straight rounds of under par golf on the weekend and finished 11-under par, 205.

The Aggies placed sixth overall as a team at 10-under par, 854. NM State carded a final round score of 9-under par, 279.

"We had a great round of golf today as a team," head coach Scott Lieberwirth said. "I thought both Tim and Gaston played great and finished out strong. We got some help from Joon today as well and we didn't have to count a high score. Our 3-4-5 players finally scored the way he needed them too. I think this tournament will help us spring board into our final two tournaments."

Junior Gaston De La Torre also fired his third straight round of under par golf with a 3-under par, 69. He finished the tournament fifth overall at 10-under par, 205. Junior Joon Lee put together his only under par round of the tournament, recording a 2-under par, 70. Lee finished the tournament tied for 57th overall at 7-over par, 223.

Sophomore Will Holdridge finished 89th overall at 12-over par, 228. In the final round, Holdridge shot a 5-over par, 77. Freshman Collin Pratt rounded out the Aggie competitors with a 3-over par, 75 in the final round. Pratt tied for 90th overall with a three round score of 13-over par, 229.

Arkansas won the team title with a three-round score of 32-under par, followed by Oklahoma (-27), Baylor (-18), Rice (-16) and Liberty (-11). Michael Whitehead of rice won the individual title with a three-round score of 19-under par.

The Aggies will be back in action on April 4-5 at the William Morris Intercollegiate.
