Norman, Okla. -- The New Mexico State men’s golf team has been recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America, earning the 2013 Team Academic Award presented by Farmers Insurance. The Aggies were honored for earning a team GPA over 3.0.
The Aggies won the 2013 WAC Championship with a three-round score of 23-over par, 887 (286-298-303). NM State carded a final-round score of 15-over par, 303. NM State would also participate in the 2013 NCAA West Regional Golf Tournament.
A total of 143 teams submitted GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn All-Academic Team recognition - a new high in the five years of the award. To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
