NM State Menís Golf Tied for Eighth at Thunderbird Invite

Tempe, Ariz. – Freshman Luis Medina is tied for third overall after a career-best 4-under par, 67 after round one of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational at the Karsten Golf Course. Medina had three birdies on the day, including an eagle on the par-5 14th.

The Aggies are tied for eighth overall after round one as a team with a score of 3-over par, 287.

Sophomore Kenneth Fadke II is tied for 22nd overall after a round one score of even par, 71. Fadke recorded three birdies in the round. Senior Willy Hogan carded a 3-over par, 74, placing him in a tie for 53rd.

Junior Brett Walker is 4-over par, 75 after one round of the tournament, tying for 60th overall. Walker had three birdies in his round. Pat Beyhan was 6-over par, 77 in round one, with two birdies. Beyhan is tied for 67th.

Arizona State leads the tournament at 13-under par, followed by Iowa (-6), Iowa State (-5), San Diego (-1) and Wichita State (E). Jon Rahm of Arizona State leads the tournament at 9-under par.

The Aggies and the rest of the field will be back on course, Saturday morning for round two.
