NM State Menís Golf 13th at NIT

Tucson, Ariz. – The No. 47 ranked New Mexico State men’s golf team carded a team score of 13-over par, 301 in the round one of the NIT at OMNI Tucson National Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz., Friday afternoon. The Aggies are 13th overall after round one.

Junior Pat Beyhan led NM State on the day with a first round score of 2-over par, 74, tying him for 44th overall. Senior Willy Hogan and junior Brett Walker each shot rounds of 3-over par, 75, placing them in a tie for 54th.

Freshman Luis Medina and sophomore Kenneth Fadke II rounded out the team scores for the Aggies by shooting 5-over par, 77, respectively. Both golfers are tied for 69th.

Sophomore Joey Martinez, who is playing as an individual in the tournament, carded a 5-over par, 77 in round one and is also tied for 69th.

California leads the tournament at 20-under par, followed by Arizona (-7), Oklahoma State (-6), UNLV (-4) and San Diego State (-4). Brandon Hagy of California leads the individual tournament at 8-under par.

The Aggies and rest of the field will be back in action Saturday morning for the second round of play, beginning at 9:30 a.m. (MT)
