NM State Menís Golf 13th at Desert Shootout

Goodyear, Ariz. – The New Mexico State men’s golf team finished 13th overall at 22-over par, 874. The Aggies cared a team score of 14-over par, 298 in the final round of play.

 

Junior Willyt Hoag led the Aggies with a three-round score of 3-over par, 216. His 3-over par, 74 in the final round helped him finish tied for 30th overall. Senior Derek Baade carded a final round score of 7-over par, 78, finishing the tournament at 6-over par, 219. He tied for 45th overall.

 

Seniopr Justin Shin was 7-over par, 220 after three rounds of play, shooting a 3-over par, 74 in the final round. Shin finished tied for 50th. Freshman Kenneth Fadke II was 3-over par, 74 in the final round, recording a three-round score of 8-over par, 221, tying him for 56th overall.

 

Freshman Joey Martinez was 18-over par, 231 for the tournament, tying for 91st overall. He shoot a final round score of 5-over par, 76.

 

BYU won the team title at 14-under par, followed by Denver (-4), Baylor (-2), Wichita State (+6) and Southern Utah (+6). Zachary Blair of BYU won the individual title with a three-round score of 15-under par.

 

The Aggies will be back in action April 5-7 at the Sundevil Invitational.
