NM State Menís Golf Heads to Desert Shootout

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men’s golf team will compete at the Desert Shootout, March 21-23, hosted by the University of Denver. The Aggies will play 18 holes each day at the 7,015-yard, par 72 Palm Valley Golf Course. Each day will feature a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.


Last season the Aggies finished 13 overall at 9-over par.


“I hope to see what we work on in practice all week long was putting ourselves in a good spot to make birdies and pars,” head coach Mike Dirks.


Seniors Justin Shin and Derek Baade, junior Willy Hogan and freshmen Kenneth Fadke II and Joey Martinez will represent the Aggies this weekend.


NM State will compete against Air Force, Baylor, Boise State, BYU, Colorado State, Denver, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Southern Utah, Tulsa, Wichita State and Wyoming.
