LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State softball head coach Kathy Rodolph announced the signing of Jaelyn Romo for the 2015 season. Romo (Tucson, Ariz.) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Rodolph’s Aggies beginning this fall.
Romo played varsity softball for Tucson High Magnet School where she was named to the AZ Starnet Watch List and was a first team All-Southern Region in 2013. She was a second team all-division in 2012 and honorable mention in 2011. She hit .533 during her senior season and plated six runs with 17 RBI and one home run. As a junior, she hit eight home runs and tallied 35 RBI off 25 season hits. She was named an All-American and was part of the Colorado Sparkler All-Star team in 2011 and 2009.
“Jaelyn is a tenacious student-athlete who plays the game with passion and grit,” Rodolph said. “She is a true utility player who can play infield or catcher. We are excited to bring Jae into our softball family.”
Romo adds to Rodolph’s singing class of Rachel Rodriguez (Paramount, Calif.), Corrin Green (Glendale, Ariz.), Dallas McBride (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Amy Bergeson (Tucson, Ariz.) who each signed NLI’s for the 2015 season.
