FRESNO, Calif. (April 20) - New Mexico State softball pitcher Celisha Walker threw a three-hitter at Fresno State but the Bulldogs answered with a one-hitter as the Aggies dropped a 1-0 contest on an unearned run at Bulldog Diamond Friday evening.

NM State (20-25, 1-12 WAC) and Fresno State (29-17, 9-2) only totaled four hits between them as both starting pitchers held their own in the circle. Sophomore Celisha Walker earned the start for the Aggies against Michelle Moses of Fresno State.

A two-out walk to Fresno State followed by some NM State fielding miscues, including an error, on back-to-back Bulldog infield singles allowed an unearned run to score in the bottom of the third inning that stood up as the game winner.

Aggie junior Amber Olive opened the game with an infield single and was later stranded at second. That would stand as the lone hit of the game for the Aggies as both pitchers kept the opposing offense at bay.

The teams conclude the series with a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Both games can be heard live via the Aggie Sports Radio Network on KSNM 570 AM with play-by-play from Kyle Doperalski.
